The EBRD’s TFP team held another successful trade finance week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 4 to 8 November.
The second largest conference organised by Worldwide Expert Conferences was dedicated to promoting financing trade with the EBRD as well as intra-regional trade in Uzbekistan.
Attendees were welcomed from EBRD partner banks, Central Bank of Uzbekistan, international commercial banks, importers, exporters, export credit agencies and other professionals working in the financial sector.
Panel discussions on supporting intra-regional trade sparked the interest of all who were there from neighbouring countries. Issuing and confirming banks from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and a big delegate from Tajikistan led by the central bank were well represented in the conference.
At the end of the conference the TFP team hosted the first graduation ceremony for partner banks and the regulator who completed the EBRD Trade Finance e-Learning Programme and EBRD-ICA courses dedicated to different areas of compliance.
The final two days of the week were taken up with the latest training for the Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS), presented by Vincent O’Brien from the International Chamber of Commerce.
